The little Andorian security drone in her bright yellow specialty uniform looked around the room for some other hint of a yellow uniform. So much of the modern uniforms were black now it made it much harder to identify departments without getting very close to them, and it was fully impossible from the rear. The little lieutenant sighed as she jostled between crewmen milling about who didn't notice her until she was squeezing past. If she could find the ops officer, that person would know her orders and could fill Talla in as to whether she was supposed to be assigned here... wherever here was. She had gotten so excited talking to Doctor Lieutenant Commander Zuub it had completely slipped her mind to ask what ship they were on and if this was their duty station.

Wait... starbase. Doctor Lieutenant Commander Zuub had said starbase when she had introduced herself, Talla was very sure of that. Though this did not have the feel of a starbase- it was small and comforting, like a little starship that was overcrowded, which was familiar and comforting to her.

Operations officer. Find the operations officer in this sea of black pants and chests and odd looks, hopefully avoiding the command staff as she did so, since she could not properly report to anyone until she knew where she was and what her orders for assignment were to be. Which of course led to her managing to step right into a somewhat tall individual whom she absently noted was rather solidly planted. Stepping back she looked up to apologize, seeing three full pips on the blue collar and an austere mein about the greyed temples, as well as the sharply angled brows and pointed ears that marked him as a Vulcan.

"Excuse me, Lieutenant," the tiny tactician squeaked apologetically, blinking up at Lieutenant Saitan as her antenna peered up questioningly at the Vulcan.

Emerald kept her head down, and her ears open. Leaning back in her chair, legs stretched out in front and crossed at the ankles, she listened to the goings on around them. Booooooring. She wanted to get across to the station, get herself stuck into something that was nice and safe and only designed to kill her within 24 hours or so, and pretend that she had nothing to do with this lot around her.

"Excuse me," she surprised herself by saying. "This is all well and good, but when do we actually get onto the station, and what do we need to know before we get ourselves killed?"

The Vulcan had taken a subtle half step back, an unconscious maintenance of personal space as the petite Andorian had closed.

" Yes... Lieutenant? " He responded evenly, the normally severe attitude of a senior Vulcan in this case weighed with a measure of personal gravitas as his attention was engaged with young woman.

One eyebrow rose fractionally as details from her appearance and attitude began to register, he noted the personal environment wear was being marginally over taxed by the telltale whine from the series micro pumps at it's hem. Her aroma bore to his senses the unusual chemical signatures of stress and anxiety.

Looking up at the Vulcan officer, he looked familiar to Talla but she couldn’t quite place where she knew him, exactly. “I was just... I did not mean to bump into you. I am trying to find the, um, ops officer?”

“ I do not know if the Midway’s operations officer has been designated. If you will wait the Captain may be discussing senior staff positions shortly.”

“Oh.. oh, um, thank you then,” the little lieutenant squeaked, nodding and moving back into the crowd. Stupid Talla, of course Ops is on the bridge. Just wait to be dismissed from this muster and you can go ask for the officer on duty on the bridge, and maybe he will know about the starbase. Midway? Is that the station name do you think?

A faint frown line appeared between Sai’tan’s inclined brows as he failed to recall having seen the younger crewmember before..

Connecting with the Tim Allen’s ship’s computer, offering authorization codes, receiving the datapacket and returning the information, the processor went to work. But before it had completed the task Sai’tan remembered.

Cadet Talla P’Trell, 2373. Dull girl, very small physicality, struggled with the course material. Handed in every extra credit assignment, up to and including crafting a Saturn V rocket replica. Which she actually sculpted out of ice, apparently having worked on it the entire semester in anticipation of needing the credit. Minute attention to detail, in the model at least. Her tests and papers proved she was not grasping much of the source material. Passed his class with a 71. Her GPA was abysmal already, but she did pass

“Lieutenant Talla P’Trell, Andorian female chief of security and tactical for Starbase 42. Transfer from the USS Constellation-G. Secured in stasis until ten minutes ago. Unremarkable service record, no medals or commendations on file. Subject is the baseline for the minimum height requirement to enter Starfleet for a biped of her physique. Master of numerous armed and unarmed combat techniques.” Ami reported.

Unaware or possibly ignoring the austere Vulcan engineer, the little lieutenant was making her way into the crowd smoothly, deftly avoiding people, redirecting momentum and positions as she flowed into the crowd.

Sai'tan watched her moving away and gave a minor nod of approval for the skills used in a defensive application.
