Hair: A brown so dark that it appears black, her hair cascades thickly in long waves about her shoulders. It is parted off-center on her head, and she normally bundles it loosely with clips.
Eyes: The northern blood is much in evidence by Avani's eyes; they are a stark grey, nuanced with hints of gold at the very center. Thick, dark lashes give them a hooded look. They are normally lined darkly with surma (kohl).
Skin: While her skin is lighter than the Indian average due to her northern origins, there is still a distinct duskiness to it.
Other distinguishing features: Pierced ears, and a nose stud, as is culturally acceptable.
Uniform/Costume: N/A; Avani dresses in tunics that have a suggestion of eastern influence, and normally pairs this with jeans.
Health: While appearing delicate, Avani is strong for her stature and age, and healthy. Years of yoga instruction under her mother have strengthened her internally. Her abilities tire her in a way that is obvious, and her skin takes on a much more pallid cast on these occasions.
Mental Health: The loss of two family members in a traumatic event is no easy thing for anyone to bear, let alone an individual in a vital stage of their development. This, compounded with being uprooted from that which was her childhood, and grieving alongside a now-single mother, has caused Avani to mature much faster than many of her peers. Add a dash of the supernatural, and her mind is a convoluted mess. It is not an easy thing for her to process. There are fractures in her mind, and they are not easily repaired.
Appearance: Large, slightly slanted eyes are set into a doll-delicate face, where there is the promise of shaped lips and stark cheekbones in later years. She has the suggestion of fragility in stature, which belies her actual strength. She has the modest curves that come with a youth just embarking on the path to adulthood, yet by the way she is built, there is a certainty there that she will never quite have anything more than modest shapeliness. On the occasions that she smiles, it seems to light up her face; she otherwise carries an air of somberness and seriousness. Photos of her sister may be mistaken for those of her, save her sister's eyes being green, like her mother's. Her voice sits at a mezzo-soprano, and is normally used in soft tones. Her accent speaks of her native home, edged with English nuances, due to the school she had attended, and her mother's own accent. Her singing voice is slightly higher, its sound being clear, effortless, and crisp with a natural-sounding vibrato.
