BACKGROUND:
Cathy Brodsky is a young woman who has power over light (as the name Lightingale implies!). She is able to use these to blind, to illuminate and to use as a heat beam/shield.
Cathy uses light a number of ways. She can use the light to generation heat beams and create a shield. She can also use it to blind her opponents--but she has to focus when she does it or she will blind other people. Cathy is able to alter her clothes with her light ability, providing an instant transformation from civilian clothes to her uniform. Needless to say a villain who can negate light will have a big advantage over her.

Hobbies: Cheer and gymnastics. Cathy has also picked up a good deal of political and legal knowledge from her father. She is a reader and is active at her temple. She’s a fan of Fox News, the Weekly Standard, Harry Potter, the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford in particular, Disney, Glee, shopping and Herman Wouk.
History: Cathy is an only child and it shows. Her father is an up and coming prosecutor in the City Attorney’s office who is close to the Republican leadership in Michigan. Her mother is a unassuming housewife. Cathy loves her parents very much and goes out of her way to please them--which means she is a good student for her dad and lives out her mom’s teenage ambitions of being a cheerleader and a good gymnast. Cathy generally handles the pressure well…but every now and then she has problems and she snaps. She is usually upbeat. Cathy is not the most religious of girls but she is proud to be Jewish.
