Somewhere on board Regan's mustache twitched.

"Shit," he whispered. "I sense something... a disturbance I haven't felt since..."

He slammed his paperback down onto the console he'd had his feet resting upon only moments before.

"Those horny bastards," he growled, pulling up the security logs to see that, indeed, said bastards were now in the Captain's cabin. He sighed. Sometimes he understood why the ancient militias and armies had been male only... if he was lucky, he'd be able to clamp down on rumors and protect the Ma'am as much as possible from the negative fall out that would come of discovery... but preventing that discovery would be up to them.

He hoped they knew what they risked and acted accordingly...

"And you had better wrap it up, sailor," he pointed sternly to the Captain's icon on the screen. "I've heard where its been, and penicillin doesn't cure much these days."

The image was poor quality, the sound even less so. But considering the effort it had taken to get even that much, it was worth it.

Arkady did not like to think of himself as a peeping Tom, and the fact that he was making such a recording not for his own enjoyment should go some way towards soothing any fears of his good nature. Arkady had nearly everything he needed, everything the nearly starved and orphaned boy from Mars had not: he had respect, he had power, but what he lacked was control. He had had power and respected in the mines of Mars, any foot soldier in the Russian mafia had that going for him. And had he not pissed off the wrong people and been forced to choose from a uniform in Starfleet or a prolonged death on the barely terraformed surface, maybe the control he desired would have been his as well. But the Romulan's had taught him an even bigger lesson.

Control was all well and good...but fear. Well fear brought faith. And whilst he knew Gary had no problem hiding away from his various entanglements and liaisons, Mary did not seem well practiced at this game. Well the game of secret affair on a small starship anyway, in all other aspects Arkady was going to grade her above average. He toggled the screen on on his flexi, letting the device record the evening tryst from the small camera mounted in a light fixture. When the time was right, and his need was great, Mary would be asked to choose her dignity over her loyalty.

And however she chose, Arkady had a plan to win in either case. Because if the Romulan's had taught him one thing at the Battle of Charon, it was that a knife was good in a alley, but a starship grade weapons suite bought you the keys to a planet.

"Its good to be me." Arkady sighed, reached up and turned off the overhead light above his bunk, and closed his eyes to dream the dreams of the Czar's of old.
