"Nyet..." he scoffed, as the scientist helped him up onto his feet "...I am currently feeling the effects of a strong opioid pain killer. What damage is done to me is not as life threatening as it might appear. Take me to the meeting also, I do not feel it in our best interests if Gary is left to become the sole voice of reason. I would not want every power in this section of the Pinwheel to think we are all like him."

Oh and how the laughing hurt his ribs, but not his legs. Not his swollen ankle.

He mentally put them down to the painkiller, but as a doctor he knew that was not the case. But right now he needed to be at that meeting, he needed to be where events were unfolding and the ships destiny being decided. Also showing up as the walking wounded would help underline the fact that Gary had sent down a poorly equipped and under guarded survey team in haste. And being the ship's single general practitioner of medicine of the quality needed for their survival, well he'd let the others mull over the thought of his demise.

"Please." he said quietly "Time is fast running out for either of us to have a hand in the progression of events."

Kat was none the worse for wear, but certainly being in an evo suit for the entire Away Mission left her personal hygiene questionable, to say the least. Anti-grav, land sharks, wielding weaponry, and flying them home had challenged her to the very edge of her abilities. The Doctor and the Chief being battle savvy didn't make their injuries or their bravery in the face of what had happened, any less in her eyes.

She was also of the opinion that the Doctor should have been taken to Sickbay, but his participation in the meeting seemed to take precedence over even his own health and well-being. How could he benefit the Horizon if he pushed himself beyond human endurance? How could that possibly be beneficial to anyone? She considered a few ideas before dismissing them as the door to the Conference Room opened.

As she brought up the rear of the party, she caught the Captain's look. He looked genuinely concerned, and to be honest, she was alive, relatively unscathed, and with a great many observations and notes that she had been keeping on her PADD, both written and recorded. She smiled at him easily, a warmth to it that was reserved for friends. After all, they had been working closely together for over a year... a friendship was bound to have developed. It didn't linger, and instead shifted to the newcomers, making observations as she pulled out her PADD and stepped to her regular place by the Captain. There was no seat at the table for a Captain's Yeoman.

She assessed the situation and took a look at everyone at the conference table. Not a new face, but one she hadn't seen at the meeting before, Ensign Vigano was in attendance.

Refreshments were provided to all who had been on the away mission, and despite the breach in protocol, she did take the liberty to lean on the side console table while the meeting began. They had just arrived back and there had been landsharks and adventure aplenty. Surely she could be forgiven a small respite...

Regardless, it was time for her regular duties to resume, and she listened attentively as it all began.

Ensign Flowers stood and gave her seat to the Commander as she took her place as Comm Officer. Settling down, she glanced over at the Engineer and smiled politely. "Buongiorno, Ensign-" she replied and then was focused fully on the meeting and the strangers aboard. They seemed harmless enough, but the what if's had begun in earnest...

She would remain cautiously optomistic; she believed that correct term might be: hopeful.

Ciara had slipped into one of the seats and remained quiet. Why was she at this meeting anyways? It was most likely because she would be the one who could scan the area. For now, she watched the visitors, wishing she'd had time to get out of the suit she was in. She found it very uncomfortable. "Captain, are these ze ones who told us how to get off ze planet? If so, we do appreciate it."

Regan sat down in his chair with a groan of appreciation for the padding.
He was far too old to be running around with a gun, especially when there were scores of capable young men onboard, all eager for a little excitement... Though most of said young men didn't have a tactical done in their unfairly limber bodies. They'd probably have been eaten...

He had to admit, though, those young ladies had sure showed up with their game faces and thinking caps on.

He could see why Gary fancied them... He peered up over his PADD which was running his usual "random gibberish to make people think I am working and nor paying attention to them" program. Yep. There was that tiny hint of tension, guilt and relief in the short gazes between Gary and... Oh damn, all the females in the room aside from this Dollie woman.

Was the little Shit carousing with every thing on this ship with two X chromosome, or only the ones in his direct line of vision?

He sighed, nodding politely at the new arrivals as introductions were made. Who was this Italian kid?
