"Not to mention anything that might want to work on a cellular level." Arkady grumbled, leaning over Ci's shoulder to look at her sensor screens "I would advise we treat the surface as a biohazard and send a survey team down in one of the shuttles. Full biohazard protocols: surface suits, decontamination. At least until we are certain the surface life presents no hazards."

That was the way most colonial survey teams worked: no one wanted to plant a flag on a planet and find out they'd contracted a flesh eating virus by mistake. Fortunately medical technology had advanced to the point of providing some quick and efficient tests for air, water and ground based pathogens and morbidities. He leaned a little closer over Ci's shoulders.

"Some of these life form scans make mammoths look tiny." he muttered, before grinning "Perhaps we can go big game hunting, get mega-mammoth hide rug for mess hall?...Is joke. Is funny."

Yeoman Tell. Leaving the Bridge, the Captain, and going on an away mission. She wasn't sure if she was in shock or amazement... or a bit of both. Because an away mission was an unprecedented assignment for someone who was supposed to be the Captain's right hand. He looked happy about it, pleased even, as though the assignment was better for him than it could ever be for her.

She did her best to return the smile, looking at each of the members of the party and assessing each one and their purpose to the Mission. She almost gave Ensign Flowers a dirty look... almost. The one who had the best command of the languages they might come in contact with, the one who had found this blasted place... she was safely and securely aboard in her safe and secure little station on the Bridge.

Adding the list to the roster rotation, she considered her own contribution to such an endeavour, and could think of none. "If we're not going immediately, Captain, is it possible to have a briefing to go over the game plan, so to speak?" She gripped the PADD tightly.
