BACKGROUND: Ciara was born to a very French family in Bordeaux, France. Growing up, French was the only language she knew and loved. She always found herself glancing up at the stars in the sky, wondering what else there was out there. Always there were boys chasing after, and she would chase after them as well. Many times, Ciara was caught in awkward positions. As much as her parents attempted to put a stop to this, there didn’t seem to be any control over it. As a teenager, she heard about something called Starfleet Academy. She realized that she would need to learn English, and did her best to become a quick study as she finished her schooling.
After attempting the entrance exam twice (failing once due to language barrier), Ciara was admitted to Starfleet Academy’s science courses. The language barrier seemed to lessen as she began to make more friends at the Academy. Although she still prefered French, she did her best to always speak in English. During the first semester of her second year, Ciara was found in the office of one of her instructors, and was immediately put on suspension for the remainder of the quarter, requiring her to retake the classes. An official reprimand was placed into her file and she was watched carefully.
Upon graduation of Starfleet Academy, she was assigned to lab work of the USS Cerulean. She made her way from lab work to sensors and occasional bridge shifts. She was promoted to Lieutenant two years later. When word of another opening in science came up on another ship, Ciara applied for it and was taken in by Captain Gary Alexander of the USS Horizon into the science department.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Although Ciara seems to be nothing more than a flirt, trying to get with everyone she fancies, this is actually not the case. Back home on Earth, Ciara has who she has fallen in love with, and loves her despite what she actually does, Peter Astor, a member of Starfleet as well, working at Headquarters. At the time of the most recent Horizon mission, the two of them had been together for nine months. Her heart will always be with him, no matter what happens elsewhere.
