Jayme Kirk arrived at the banquet and noticed that Jessie was pregnant. He inquired as to who the guy was and Jessie explained the unusual circumstances of her pregnancy. O'Connor noticed that Jayme Kirk had returned and she stormed up to him, calling him Benedict Arnold for having taken the Defiant rather than staying on America. She then told him to go to his Excelsior to command rather than bothering the America crew. Jayme started hitting on O'Connor and she refused his charms. He then offered a tour of the Defiant, which O'Connor refused. She was pleased to hear that it was going on a scientific mission because O'Connor viewed that as being laid out to pasture but she forgot that Jayme came up through science and it excited him.

Three hours later, O'Connor made a surprise visit to the Defiant. Jayme Kirk started off the tour by showing O'Connor the weapons depot. When they got to the bridge, O'Connor complained that the configuration was all wrong when she sat in the Captain's chair. O'Connor bet Jayme that the quarters were smaller than a Constitution and when shown she was wrong, she continued to bicker with Jayme until Jayme asked what her problem was him. O'Connor responded by kissing Jayme and taking him to bed. Before she left, O'Connor informed Jayme that he better not act like his uncle and philander about or this would be he would not get anything more from her. She also told him that things between them had to be kept quiet which meant that she would continue to bicker with him.

T'Pani came into Engineering not remembering anything of what she had done in the previous mission and seemed to be acting like a normal Vulcan with her conversations with Myers. Jade appeared in Engineering and Myers asked what the status of her transfer was. Myers was excited to learn that Jade was staying in Engineering a bit longer to make repairs. However, Drak'nah would be reporting to Security soon.

Later, T'Pani revealed to an ensign that she had a stuffed bear called Mr. White that calmed her and prevented her from fretting.

Day 2

Jessie went in for another check up with Delaney and learned that in one week, her pregnancy had progressed six weeks. Jessie was now approximately three months pregnant, if this was a normal pregnancy. Delaney predicted at this rate, the pregnancy would be completed in approximately two months.

Day 3

Drak'nah reported to O'Connor before her first shift on security. She wanted to know the reason for the change, especially given Drak'nah's background. Drak'nah explained that her personal feelings were making her unable to perform her duties in Engineering. O'Connor informed Drak'nah that she came up through security and thus, she would have to tell O'Connor more before she would approve a transfer. Drak'nah confessed that the reason she wanted to move from Engineering to Security was because she had personal feelings for Pendragon. O'Connor decided that she would give Drak'nah a one week trial in Security on the condition that in that week she talked to Pendragon about her feelings. Otherwise, she would be sent back to Engineering or transferred off the ship.

When O'Connor learned of Myers befriending T'Pani, O'Connor ordered her to take a few days away from T'Pani. She further ordered Myers to direct T'Pani to T'Pruk during that time. Wells was less pleased than O'Connor about discovering that Myers was allowing T'Pani in engineering.

T'Pani spoke with Myers and started to learn human euphemisms. Myers told T'Pani that she believed that T'Pani was a better fit for Engineering than Science. They then went to Ten Forward where they met T'Pruk. T'Pani complained that the bitch took her bear and T'Pani could not relax without it. Myers tried to hide from the fact she had taught T'Pani that euphemism. T'Pruk concluded that T'Pani was still ill and thus still needed to be monitored because Vulcans had no needs for such attachments. T'Pruk asked to see Mr. White since T'Pani said it was talking to her. Furthermore, T'Pani was puzzled as to how T'Pani got another bear as the last one destroyed part of America.

O'Connor then sent T'Pani back to Delaney for another medical investigation due to the apparent hallucinations. By the time that she got there, she was complaining of a headache. T'Pruk arrived and offered her assistance with T'Pani; however, Delaney said she could just sit and wait. Blood started to drip from T'Pani's nose and T'Pruk suggested sedating T'Pani. Delaney and T'Pruk hypothesized about an implant making it difficult or impossible for T'Pani to communicate regarding certain topics. T'Pruk reminded Delaney that O'Connor did not want T'Pani to function as anything but a pure Vulcan despite her heritage. Myers was called in to consult and Delaney inquired as to what T'Pani and Myers discussed to see if there was a trigger.

O'Connor and Myers started drinking Tennessee whiskey. O'Connor hoped that this would be the last mission before they got an Excelsior, which Myers was keen on and revealed she did not believe Wells would be. O'Connor inquired how Myers was getting on with Wells and determined whether there would be a problem. Myers said she would make sure there was none. O'Connor revealed she had no plans for leave and was going to tinker with her own gadgets. She also revealed that she was not too keen on Drak'nah's transfer from engineering to security.

Day 4

Myers had the day off and started working out in the exercise room. Greg Mallett, a science ensign, admired her and they began to talk but were interrupted by Wells who called her to Engineering. Wells demanded to know why she allowed T'Pani, who was dangerous, into Engineering. Myers reasserted that T'Pani just walked in and she already had this very conversation with the Captain the previous day. Wells took the opportunity to remind Myers that she was not the CEO any longer and it was Wells that was the CEO now.

Day 5

O'Connor and Jessie discussed their current mission and O'Connor complained that the area they were in had already been categorized ad nauseum. There was nothing new or exciting in this area and it was boring her. Jessie again stated that Constitution class ships were superior to Excelsiors and O'Connor informed Jessie that was because she was sentimental.

Mallet met Myers on the Recreation Deck. She vented to him about having a rough day with her superior officer and T'Pani. He bought her another Tennessee whiskey and lightly put his hand on her shoulder. She stiffened and he removed it. Noticing she was playing Tetris, he bet her a steak dinner that he could beat her. They tied. Myers still accepted a date at Mallet's quarters at 1700 hours.

Ridika arrived for the date and started her off with Vulcan white wine. Myers tried to trip Greg with a question of asking if "she was a dull girl?" Mallet escaped by asking, "Do you think I would have invited you over if I thought that?" They spared over the superiority of Science or Engineering departments. Steak arrived as promised; however, Myers did not believe that he really was going to get it. During dinner, he leaned over the table to give Ridika a kiss, which resulted in the entire table collapsing and Mallet making a mess of himself.

Myers laughed at Mallet and Mallet took the opportunity to begin a tickle fight. He told Ridika he would stop if she admitted that Science was better than Engineering. She refused but holding rank ordered Mallet to admit Engineering was better than Science. They kissed and after awhile, Myers settled in on Mallet's shoulder and started falling asleep. Mallet reminded Myers that respectable women, in Myers own words, do not stay over on the first night and he gently urged her out of his room. He suggested a second date in Myers quarters for a holovid, especially as she did not have a roommate. She told him to surprise him with the holovid selection.

Day 6

T'Pani had no further relapses that T'Pruk could determine. However, on this day she again started to speak of Cadet Chea who T'Pruk knew never existed. She suggested that T'Pani go to Vulcan for Kohlinar or see Delaney again. Choosing neither, T'Pruk said they would return to their meditations.

Day 7

America received an emergency call from a pre-warp, industrialized world called Farsha. They complained of a disappearing population. Jessie, T'Pruk, Myers and Delaney were sent to investigate. Jessie suggested that O'Connor search for cloaked ships while they were down on Farsha. When the away team got down to the planet, it was completely quiet and no life forms could be found. Instead, they found numerous colorless, crystalline dodecahedrons, some that had what appeared to be weapons next to them. Delaney picked two up and took them with her.

T'Pruk noted that the dodecahedrons did not seem to be organized in any aesthetic pattern. Ridika wondered if perhaps they were a marker for where the inhabitants were when they disappeared. T'Pruk was intrigued by the hypothesis and scanned the dodecahedrons. She discovered that they were composed of 65% oxygen, 18.5% carbon, 9.5% hydrogen, 3.2% nitrogen, 1.5% calcium, 1% phosphorous, 0.4% potassium, 0.3% sulfur, 0.2% sodium, 0.2% cholorine, 0.1% magnesium, 0.1% iodine, 0.1% iron, and other trace elements, which were the exact proportions of elements in a human body.

In the meantime, America went to Yellow Alert. Before the Away Team beamed up, T'Pani saw that a ship with a warp signature engine was departing the planet. O'Connor raised shields and ordered that the ship be tractor beamed. However, T'Pani could not get a tractor beam lock on the ship and it escaped, heading in a direction that was towards the Andromeda Galaxy.

O'Connor immediately ordered the away team to beam back once the shields were lowered. Once aboard, Pendragon refused to allow the Away Team to leave the transporter room as her tricorder recorded five rather than four life forms. Kirk tried to bully her way past Pendragon asserting that he should forget what he saw. T'Pruk quoted regulations at Jessie and asked Delaney if she wished to override. This forced Jessie to admit that she was pregnant and she reiterated that it was nobody's business but her own.

The Away Team then arrived at the Briefing room with Jessie complaining about an overzealous transporter operator. T'Pruk said that Pendragon was careless on the beam down but following protocols on beam up. O'Connor informed the away team of the unidentified ship heading away at warp 10. Delaney put the two dodecahedrons on the table and O'Connor inquired into what they were. T'Pani espoused her theory that the dodecahedrons were the inhabitants. But T'Pruk admitted that she did not know how to turn a human into crystal once Delaney questioned her theory. However, T'Pruk stated that in theory, it should not be too different than a transporter beam rearranging matter. O'Connor then ordered that they get all the information that they could on the solar systems between themselves and Andromeda and for Myers to try to improve the warp efficiency and speed.

Myers then requested assistance from science in finding high gravitational stars. Mallet picked up and teased Myers about needing assistance from the superior department of Science. After a bit of teasing, Myers "ordered" him to give the results and Mallet told her she owed him one. Pendragon ran some simulations and found that a new intermix formula would either blow up the ship or give them another 5% power.

Wells was on the bridge with T'Pani during the briefing and T'Pani determined that the ship was of unknown origin and configuration.

When Pendragon had a few moments alone with T'Pani, he forgave her for nearly blowing him up.

O'Connor then was given a top secret report having to do with James Kirk's encounters in this area with the Kelvans. She immediately recalled a briefing. She informed them of the Kelvans and that they would be going to the Kelvan's home planet that was secreted in one of the two solar systems. She also informed T'Pruk that she was correct on her theory. T'Pruk inquired as to the logic of going to the Kelvan planet as their technology was obviously superior. O'Connor told the group that the files on the Kelvans would be released to everyone in the room but would have to be kept confidential as to everyone else on the ship. She anticipated that at least one Kelvan would have to be brought on board to deal with the current situation.

O'Connor, Delaney, Wells, Richard, and T'Pruk beamed down to the planet and were met by a man and a woman. They escorted them into their home under the ground. Scanners were useless down there. No readings could be taken. They then met the original 5 Kelvans: Rojan, Kelinda, Tomar, Hanar and Drea. Rojan, Kelinda and Tomar told O'Connor that they would be beaming to America with them and to combat their foes would be altering the America's engines. The conversation was interrupted by a child who kept pointing at the ceiling and yelling "UP!" They determined that their children were beaming to America.

Once there was no signal, Kirk had the While the Away team was down below, several individuals beamed up - all turning out to be children. One asked Myers if he was looking at the warp core. He neutralized her and then reanimated her for assistance. When she refused to answer, his hand moved to a button on a panel on his waist. Myers said she would help but needed to disconnect things. The child said if she did not, then others would suffer. He turned Pendragon into a dodecahedron and then informed Myers that if one speck was removed, it would kill Pendragon. Myers refused to work under these conditions and returned Pendragon to himself.

Jessie received reports of intruders but security would not respond. Another girl appeared on the bridge. When Jessie confronted her, she was immobilized by the girl.

O'Connor tried to reach America and the Kelvans verified that it was likely the children beamed up. They got the children back down and Rojan, Kelinda and Tomar beamed up with the away team. Jessie expressed her dissatisfaction with the Kelvans and the children, stating she did not trust them. O'Connor teased Jessie about her lack of maternal instinct.

Tomar went into Engineering and told Myers that he needed to have access to the warp core. Myers refused but Wells yelled at Myers that it did not matter why he was doing it because the Captain ordered it. T'Pruk was in the room as well and Tomar recalled his memory of another one of her race - Spock. She stated that she did. Richard Chambers appeared to guard Tomar but Tomar laughed and said he was no threat. To prove it, he turned Richard into a dodecahedron and then back again. T'Pruk noticed Chambers getting angry and setting the phaser level up. She cautioned him to set aside his anger.

Off duty, Myers went to Mallet's quarters to try and relax. He gave her a massage and Myers vented about her day with the Kelvans. Massage turned to kisses which turned into much more.

Day 8

Myers and Mallet woke together and exchanged pleasantries. They then walked to Engineering together to see what reactions they might get from the crew.

Wells and Myers reported that Tomar's modifications allowed America to reach Warp 11. This was confirmed by Mallet and T'Pruk.

Tomar went to the bar and started to get drunk with Chambers.

O'Connor ordered the ship to go to maximum warp and when it did it lurched forward awkwardly, killing Wells. Shortly thereafter, the computer announced there was a warp containment failure that was imminent and Tomar, now drunk, said that should not happen. She then pulled Myers aside, promoted her to CEO and told her to make sure when they got through this to schedule time off with Mallet.

When America arrived at Starbase One, she granted 72 hours of shore leave. She and Sinclair escorted Jamison off the ship and O'Connor looked at all the cadets, annoyed at their eagerness. O'Connor then reported to Admiral Kent's office. Once there, O'Connor was introduced to her new Assistant Chief of Security, a Romulan named Lieutenant Macenta Serentis, "daughter" of Admiral Serentis. O'Connor opposed a Romulan's appointment to America and Kent told her that she had no choice. He then informed O'Connor that Young was retiring to a desk job and she would need a new XO. He also told her that because the Admiralty was impressed with her choices during the Huanni mission that they were giving her a chance at a diplomatic mission to Betazed, a planet that wanted to join the Federation. She was to report on and investigate this telepathic and empathic race of people.

T'Pani introduced herself to Wells and Wells said she should report to the Captain. T'Pani thought America was a cadet ship based on its age and appearance and Wells hastily informed T'Pani that she should not tell the Captain that.

T'Pani then met with O'Connor's Yeoman, James Mattison. Mattison did not believe that a cadet was assigned to America. She then called America antiquated and Mattison jumped down T'Pani's throat for that classification and told her to learn tact. She was assigned a temporary room as no orders had been received regarding a cadet being assigned to America. O'Connor got a call from Mattison regarding the unusual Vulcan, so she and Serentis went back to America to investigate.

First O'Connor informed Mattison that he was to get quarters for Serentis and informed him that if America could handle a Huanni, they certainly could handle a Romulan. Serentis, thinking that O'Connor was too serious, determined that her mission was to make O'Connor laugh out loud. Serentis told O'Connor that friends called her Mac.

They met T'Pani in her assigned room and looked at the orders. O'Connor asked Mac to investigate the orders if she did not mind starting early. She agreed. In response, T'Pani offered the Captain a dermal massage. Mac yelled at T'Pani that this was a first day not first date. T'Pani then claimed that she did not know who signed her orders to America, raising Mac and O'Connor's suspicion more. O'Connor then left T'Pani in Mac's hands to do with as she wished. She immediately sent T'Pani to the brig.

In the meantime, Brian moved to his new quarters to meet his new roommate. Inside, T'Pruk was meditating. Brian was surprised because he did not expect a co-ed relationship. T'Pruk was also surprised because she expected a Brianne Pendragon. She asked if Brian had an issue with the arrangement or error. Brian suggested rigging a sheet up to separate them but before any response could be had, America's alarm went off.

T'Pani escaped and then went to the controls of America and started depleting the ship of oxygen. Alarms went on all over spacedock and Mac went after T'Pani. She was stopped by America's security who did not know she was a member of the crew. A Caitan named Kah'tan stopped her and then called O'Connor back to the ship. O'Connor straightened out the mess and told Mac she had to investigate everything about T'Pani. Kah'tan and Mac made plans to go out after the shift.

Shortly thereafter, Pendragon ran into Mac and unlike anyone else, Brian asked Mac to see her credentials. After exchanging pleasantries, Mac invited Brian to a rodeo and told him to invite the crew in her home state of Texas.

Kah'tan then went out for drinks with Mac. They played pool and Kah'tan tried to take Mac back to bed but ended up only playing pool with her.

O'Connor then met with Jessie Kirk, explaining that Young would not be coming back. Jessie said that she hoped the new XO was not so thick headed. O'Connor responded that from what she could tell, the new XO could be a rather huge pain in the ass, lacks some diplomatic skills and had Klingon aggression tendencies; but one always knew where you stood with her. Jessie replied that she thought that was exactly what America needed and that she would get along with her fine. O'Connor answered that she would hope so since Jessie looked in the mirror at herself every day. Again they battled over the superiority of the Excelsiors and Jessie defended the America/Constitution classes. Kirk then was told about the Romulan security officer. Jessie said "once a Romulan always a Romulan" and the moment she screwed up, she would have her in the brig or off the ship. Later, they would toast her becoming XO. Jessie, knowing she was pregnant, initially refused a drink but O'Connor guilted her into one. O'Connor also suggested that Jessie marry a Klingon due to their similarities.

O'Connor went to once again meet with the Delaney family with the precise intention of luring Cian to America to bed him. She informed Tegau about the cadet and Romulan now on America. She also told Tegau that she promoted Jessie to XO which meant that she had to replace her 2XO. She asked Tegau for suggestions and Tegau suggested Wells, Pendragon or Sinclair. O'Connor shot back that neither Sinclair or Pendragon were heads of staff yet and Wells was still intimidated by her. Tegau stated that knowing O'Connor, she already had someone in mind. At dinner, O'Connor announced that Tegau was being promoted to first lieutenant, would have to enroll in Command school and now would be O'Connor's 2XO. Tegau was left speechless for the first time since she was an Ensign. After dinner, O'Connor took Cian to the ship and Cian rejected her advances, infuriating O'Connor.

The next day, Tegau sat with Mac for breakfast. She revealed that she was rescued at 7 after a battle, that she was from Texas, loves horses, the color purple, has a size ten shoe and her pet peeves are anything that annoys her. They then went horseback riding at the Delaney farm.

Later, Mac met T'Pruk in the cafeteria for dinner. T'Pruk was confused by a Romulan being on board but learned Mac was adopted by Admiral Serentis at 7 years of age after a battle with the Romulans. She considered herself Texan ever since. Mac said T'Pruk should be pleased to see a Romulan in Federation uniform to which T'Pruk responded she was neither pleased nor displeased because Vulcans do not function off emotion, only logic. Mac answered that giving into emotion frees her. T'Pruk offered to teach Mac logic, meditation and purging herself of emotions. Mac said she would accept two of the three. When Mac invited T'Pruk to the rodeo, T'Pruk found the practice to be barbaric.

Delaney then met with Kirk who revealed her last cycle was prior to the time travel mission. She did not know how she got pregnant and Jessie confessed that she was scared. Delaney implied that Jessie could terminate the pregnancy but Jessie took offense at that thought. Jessie was told that she could work as normal until a couple of weeks prior to her due date.

A hearing was then held regarding T'Pani's behavior and her reason to sabotage America. O'Connor and Mac testified but during testimony they learned that for some reason there were no recordings, logs, or videos supporting Mac and O'Connor's version of facts. Furthermore, Delaney's scans showing that T'Pani had something similar to Bendii Syndrome were not there. Rather scans of a normal Vulcan were in their place. Therefore, all charges were dismissed. T'Pani approached the Captain and Mac advised T'Pani to stay away. Mac told O'Connor that if T'Pani got near her again, she would rule T'Pani suicidal and a danger to herself and put her in the brig. This forced O'Connor to laugh, causing her to lose her bet with Mac.

Pendragon entered his and T'Pruk's room, finding the lights off, the room solely illuminated by a candle. Pendragon tried to tip toe past but T'Pruk heard him and invited Pendragon to meditate with her. However, as Pendragon tried to concentrate, his thoughts wandered to his attraction to Mac and the issues with T'Pani. Pendragon committed to studying meditation with T'Pruk more.

O'Connor, in the meantime canceled all shore leave for the engineering staff to repair T'Pani's damage. She wanted to leave Starbase One as quickly as possible. After canceling their shore leave, she started drinking Romulan "Beer" with Mac. Wells joined them and they informed her about T'Pani, enraging Wells. The Chief Engineer then told O'Connor they were not leaving for five days and O'Connor yelled at Wells, stating that they would be leaving tomorrow and she needed to perform a miracle.

O'Connor left the party, now quite drunk. Mac insisted that she continue the drinking contest but O'Connor refused, her Irish accent now coming through loud and clear. Mac tried putting her arm around O'Connor and she ducked out of it. Still walking the Captain down the corridor, the Captain cried as she insisted that she be left alone.

The next day, O'Connor and Jessie talked on the bridge. Jessie expressed her distrust of Mac since she was placed there by an Admiral. Both stated they did not trust T'Pani. When Jessie asked O'Connor when she wanted to leave, she said, "Yesterday." Jessie quipped that she was not interested in time travel and O'Connor responded that if Jessie mentioned those words again, she would personally phaser her.

T'Pruk met with T'Pani and T'Pani stated that she was feeling emotions. T'Pruk suggested that T'Pani meet with Delaney to look into this problem as well as the fact that no squadron existed as T'Pani claimed did. T'Pani insisted on a Vulcan doctor, but America had none. T'Pruk met with Delaney about these concerns and made Delaney promise when T'Pani was examined that T'Pruk be present. T'Pani also believed that she was confined to quarters by Mac but Mac insisted that was not true. T'Pruk concluded that T'Pani was likely suffering from a mental disorder.

Before the rodeo, O'Connor caught up with Mac and told her that she saw nothing last night. Mac told O'Connor she had a pretty accent and O'Connor revealed that it only came out when she was upset, tipsy or both. Mac assured O'Connor nothing would appear on the Ticker Tape and that Engineering, including Wells had been working around the clock to meet O'Connor's demands. Mac revealed that she too had helped with repairs (including a cute post where she helps Pendragon (#701 on the yahoo group)).

At the rodeo, Tegau and Ainsley Delaney cheered on Mac. Pendragon tried to get his eyes on her but a pretty girl was thrown off an animal and into him. The woman introduced herself as Mary Jo Redding. When Mary Jo learned that Pendragon was there to see Mac and had a crush on Mac, Mary Jo put a guilt trip on Brian and eventually coerced him into kissing her to keep her mouth shut about his crush on Mac.

Just before America left, now Junior Grade Lieutenant Ridika Meyers hailed America. She requested a transfer. O'Connor was shocked that she had not been promoted to Chief Engineer on another ship. Apparently she disobeyed an order regarding the ejection of the warp core of the Drifter and kept it intact without ejection. She was busted down to Junior Grade Lieutenant for disobeying a direct order. O'Connor told her to catch a cargo ship to meet the America at Betazed.

Once America left, O'Connor felt better. She called a briefing and explained that because of the Huanni mission, they were thought to be good negotiators. She advised everyone to keep their eyes and ears open and to report to her what they learned or found. A common expression of concern was shielding their thoughts from the Betazoids. Jessie stated that they likely had prohibitions against reading unwilling subjects but Delaney responded with doubts as to trustworthiness. T'Pruk noted that she had telepathic abilities and nobody distrusted her. Jessie stated that Vulcans are touch telepaths and not as much of a threat.

O'Connor again asked if anyone could determine a way to block the Betazoids from reading their mind. Wells suggested implanting a chip that acted like white noise. Delaney said that as long as it did not interfere with normal neural processes, it could work. O'Connor decided to lock down the ship's systems with Wells and that if any tampering occurred, to shut it all down but no chips would be implanted in anyone's brains. However, Delaney would work on a jamming device, just in case.

After the briefing, Delaney told Kirk privately that she believed Kirk's pregnancy was caused by parthenogenesis.

When Pendragon got back to his quarters, there was a message from Mary Jo telling him that if he did not respond in 12 hours, that she would tell Mac about the kiss. Pendragon responded with 15 minutes to spare and they conversed.

Despite Mary Jo's promise, she contacted Mac and told Mac that she planned on keeping Pendragon as her boyfriend and to look after him for her. Mac then forwarded the communication to Pendragon warning him of who he got involved with. Pendragon wondered why the women he liked hardly even
noticed him, but the weirdos homed in on him like iron filings to an electro-magnet. Pendragon and Mac met and Mac admitted she liked Pendragon and invited him out for drinks.

Tegau met with the Captain to find out why the Captain was acting so angrily towards her. O'Connor revealed that she thought Tegau knew that Cian refused her and it was the first guy ever to refuse her. She also stated that she expected command, whereas Tegau did not. O'Connor further stated she could never see becoming an admiral because she could never take a desk job. She then discussed the unusual marriage rituals of the Betazoids where everyone came to the ceremony naked, calling them hedonistic and barbaric but likely leading to a good time.

O'Connor and Wells met for breakfast the next morning and O'Connor confided to Wells that she did not trust the Betazoids or T'Pani but she could not figure out the problem because not "enough of the game had unfolded." Wells stated that the one good thing that came out of leaving earlier was she got to meet Mac and learned to trust her from the assistance.

When the ship orbited Betazoid, they were greeted by Ambassador Xenobia Kartikaya on the view screen. O'Connor stated that she did not care for winter. Xenobia looked as if she had the wind taken from her sails and O'Connor was shocked that she may have surprised a telepath, causing her to wonder if they could only do it with their own race. Xenobia reaffirmed that Betazoids were prohibited from reading other's minds without permission and arranged for them to meet in a tropical location instead.

O'Connor, Delaney and Kirk all beamed down to Betazed to meet with Xenobia Kartikaya. Wells was left in charge on America. A girl named Lwaxanna passed by the party and told Jessie congratulations.

That evening, O'Connor confronted Jessie about her pregnancy. O'Connor also was shocked that Jessie was a virgin and found that Jessie did not have many urges when it came to men, further shocking O'Connor. Jessie claimed this was her own business but O'Connor insisted that all crew and personnel, including that of Jessie's unborn child were her business and this might affect Jessie's future away team assignments.

In Engineering, T'Pani wandered in and was met by Drak'nah and Pendragon. T'Pani pulled a phaser on Pendragon and held him captive and took him to Transporter Room 2. She put the teddy bear on some consoles. Pendragon called to the bridge for assistance but T'Pani was beamed off the ship. Nearly simultaneously, the teddy bear exploded and engineering was left a mess. After the explosion, Wells had two shuttles tow the America out of orbit and into space. Wells then looked at Mattison and asked how she might deal with the Captain's temper once the ship was safe. In the aftermath, Mac was killed by a collapsed roof.

T'Pani found herself in a mountainside on Betazed and was greeted by a Romulan. She informed T'Pani that her memory had been altered and that the ring was a method of communicating with T'Pani. She instructed T'Pani to project the picture of a cybernetic male wearing XO pins before O'Connor the next time that T'Pani saw O'Connor.

After breakfast, the next day Xenobia granted America permission to send crew down to Betazed for shore leave and R & R.

Jessie went on a tour of Betazed's manufacturing facilities after breakfast. However, O'Connor saw the cybernetic man, Roger Frankson, she chased him and then found unconsciousness. When she woke, she was alone with T'Pani, stripped of her communication devices. T'Pani explained that she implanted the image of the man, Roger Frankson, in O'Connor's mind.

Meanwhile, Caitan Ensign Shikiri and Pendragon beamed to the mountain area, searching for T'Pani. Shikiri called Clarabelle disgusting but Pendragon defended her. They reached an overhang and then fell onto a cushion. They were greeted by a female who already knew their names. Whatever they thought about appeared before them. When Pendragon pulled out a tricorder, the Romulan pulled out a disruptor, making Pendragon drop it. Pendragon asked what the woman did with T'Pani and she informed Brian that T'Pani had never been herself. Another woman started talking telepathically with Pendragon, mocking him. Because he defended Shikiri, he was strapped into a chair to learn his new future.

Brian, however, saw the Captain first. He tried to address the Captain but a Romulan slapped him in the face to quiet him, complaining that the Captain's business was hers alone. O'Connor tried to tell the Romulan to let Pendragon be. She would order him to remain quiet because Pendragon followed orders well and the Romulan laughed saying that would make Camille's treatment all the more effective. O'Connor attacked the Romulan, felling the Romulan and ordering Pendragon to run. He tried but Camille caused Pendragon to feel blinding pain in his legs and he fell to the ground. She determined to have more fun with him. She then told Pendragon that when he would wake, he would believe that he had a sordid affair with Shikiri after an avalanche sealed them in a cave. The tricorder would be altered to prove that it happened, as well as finding no trace of the captain. Brian woke up, kissed Shikiri on the forehead and asked to return with her to America since they could not find the Captain. When he returned, Pendragon was a ladies' man, confident and secure. The old hesitant, insecure Pendragon was gone.

However, by this time America had regained its warp capacity through the efforts of Ridika Myers.

When O'Connor was awaken by T'Pani and the Romulan, O'Connor learned that Camille was a special Betazoid. She could send telepathic thoughts, visions, and sensations. She also learned that T'Pani was bred to do the same things. Apparently the Romulans had captured a Vulcan in pon farr over a hundred years ago who bred with a Romulan. Those offspring were carefully selected and bred with captured Betazoids, resulting in individuals like T'Pani. T'Pani then contacted O'Connor telepathically and asked for help. O'Connor promised she would if she got her out of captivity. That night, T'Pani tried to get O'Connor and her out but failed. Both were told they would cooperate or die. T'Pani was told she would be sent for reeducation on the following day. However, T'Pani was able to get a message to T'Pruk on the America.

After Jessie's long day, she called on the communicator to check in with O'Connor but received no response, so she asked the ship to try and hail her. Tegau had been enjoying herself visiting the medical facilities and learning social norms for Betazoids. However, Tegau also could not find the Captain. However, she found Jessie for breakfast the next day. Nobody could get through to her.

Jessie and Tegau contacted America and sent out search teams via shuttles since the transporters were not working. Tegau immediately headed to Xenobia who told Delaney that the Captain had been kidnapped and herself incapacitated. The Captain was calling out to someone that Xenobia could not see. She said that O'Connor was calling out to someone named, Roger.

Kirk was then told by the kidnappers that they had O'Connor and they would have to comply with their demands if they wanted O'Connor returned safe and sound. T'Pruk was sent down to Betazed to try and locate T'Pani and the Captain. After sometime, Pendragon and Myers were able to locate the Captain's bio signs from the America. Myers then found herself facing the other side of a phaser from the Captain's Yeoman, James Mattison who revealed that he had her transferred off America. Mattison beamed both of them off of America and to the Romulan. She complained that she should have killed Myers but Mattison explained that firing a phaser on America would have set off the internal alarms. He then stunned Myers after revealing that he had been in love with the Captain for years and this was his way of getting her to himself.

T'Pani and O'Connor continued to try to escape. T'Pani continued trying to contact T'Pruk and Camille revealed herself as T'Pani's true mother. Myers was thrown in the same room with O'Connor and T'Pani. O'Connor told Myers that they had to escape and prevent T'Pani's mind from being wiped. Camille then came down to take the Captain away while Myers and T'Pani were arguing with one another. T'Pani took some scrap metal, threw it at Camille who deftly stepped out of the way but allowed the springs to strike O'Connor, knocking her out.

T'Pani and Myers then MacGuivered some bed springs to short out the forcefield, escaped their quarters and started searching for the Captain. They ran into Camille who instructed T'Pani to tell Myers to return to her room so T'Pani could be reprogrammed. A Romulan strode up to Camille and told her to just take T'Pani and she would deal with the human. T'Pani became docile and left with Camille, leaving Myers alone with the Romulan. The Romulan wondered aloud what to do with Myers. Myers took a pipe and charged the Romulan who shot Myers' arm with a disruptor. She informed Myers that disruptors had wonderful anti-coagulant properties and now, sadly, Myers would bleed to death. She tried to run away but the Romulan shot Myers again in the leg. The Romulan then beamed away.

Camille took T'Pani to the reeducation room. There, T'Pani could see the Captain strapped and bound into a chair. Her eyes were closed and her teeth grit. The chair was facing upwards. The Captain begged T'Pani to fight Camille and not allow her brain to be reprogrammed. T'Pani tried killing herself but Camille saved her and erased her memories. She then woke the Captain, who she had psycicly put to sleep and T'Pani. T'Pani did not know who O'Connor was. Camille told T'Pani that O'Connor was her Captain and that they needed to take Mattison and beam back to America. Camille then beamed away.

T'Pruk started her own investigation on America and discussed with Pendragon his search. She determined that Pendragon was not himself because when he spoke of the search for the Captain, his eyes went blank and his responses seemed recorded. Also, the fact that the tricorder broke seemed rather odd because they were not usually so fragile. Pendragon demanded a scan of his own brain patterns, given the mounting evidence that he was not himself. However, when nobody in sickbay attended to him, he left.

In the meantime, American was able to find Myers fading life signals and they beamed her up. Delaney started working on her and Myers said they had to go back and get the Captain.

T'Pruk learning that Pendragon was not in sickbay called to security to escort Pendragon back to sickbay as she believed he was a threat to himself and the ship. Surprisingly to Pendragon, Jade Drak'nah had transferred to security and started escorting Pendragon to sickbay. Shikiri, hearing the alert, also headed to sickbay, angry than a mere Ensign would accuse her Junior Grade Lieutenant of such horrible atrocities. Stroking Brian's hair, she asked if her mate, Brian, was alright. T'Pruk arrived and explained why she believed that Pendragon, Shikiri and the tricorder were inaccurate. The longer that Shikiri was near Pendragon, the more his feline allergies acted up. He now believed T'Pruk and asked to be "fixed." Shikiri initially protested the tests but saw that she was likely to be sedated if she did not agree and relented.

What Delaney found, astonished her. Both Shikiri and Pendragon had implanted memories that came from psychic traumas inflicted upon them. Worse, the parts of the mind associated with the memory seemed to have been branched so that there was a disassociation with their normal personalities. Surgery would a risky option because of the synaptic entanglement of the two personalities. Delaney knew that a mind meld could have a chance of sorting the two out, perhaps quicker and possibly combined with surgery, could disentangle and sever the implanted personality permanently.

T'Pruk mind melded with Pendragon and the womanizing Pendragon asked T'Pruk to dance with him while a voice from the darkness stated that T'Pruk did not desire that. The voice from the darkness tried to encourage T'Pruk to go and save the Captain. T'Pruk decided to take the dance and told the womanizing Pendragon to disburse. It disappeared, leaving a tired Pendragon alone with T'Pruk in Pendragon's mind. Pendragon said that T'Pruk could now call him Brian and he relayed the true memories to T'Pruk, including the coordinates to find the Captain.

Jessie, Hemd and a security team readied to beam down just after O'Connor watched a Romulan War Bird cloak and leave Betazed. Before the away team could beam, O'Connor came on the screen and explained the base was about to detonate. They were beamed up and a special diplomatic envoy came to relieve the America.

At a banquet, thereafter, T'Pani was promoted to Acting Ensign. Myers was re-promoted to full Lieutenant and Assistant Chief Engineer. T'Pruk was promoted to Junior Grade Lieutenant. Jade Drak'nah confided to Myers that she transferred from Engineering because she was uncomfortable being near Pendragon because new women kept ending up in his arms. Myers discovered that Drak'nah was likely jealous and a transfer was not going to solve the problem for her and left the door open for a transfer back to engineering.

O'Connor then was invited to the Delaney family farm. During that conversation, O'Connor revealed the mysterious disappearance of her fiance, and previous Commander of America Roger Frankson at Delta Trianguli III. She also revealed to Tegau that she believed that she would ever be able to get close to anyone else again. Tegau encouraged O'Connor and they went to the farm together. There, O'Connor fixated on Tegau's eldest brother, Cian, referring to him as a lummox and as a color. They had a drinking contest which Cian halted claiming that O'Connor was drunk but the family called a draw. O'Connor tried to drag out Cian by his ear but was stopped by the Delaney family who claimed that she was drunk. Tegau then explained that they had drunk most of the family's liquor and O'Connor sent presents of replacements.

Jessie Kirk was offered the XO position on the Defiant by her brother, Jayme Kirk. It was docked, as well. However, after talking to O'Connor back on the ship, she refused the offer.

Commander James T. Buford introduced himself as the temporary XO in place of Chad Young. He was the estranged uncle of the helmsman, Junior Grade Lieutenant Ben Jamison. O'Connor was Commander Musselmann; however Buford told O'Connor that he was recovering from a bout of alcoholism and addiction to the hangover medication. Buford also told Admiral Kent in front of the bridge that he was responsible for the Huanni, which is why he came on the mission.

O'Connor informed Connel, as her guardian, that she could stay on the America on a trial run as she had not had the time to make adequate arrangement for her to be on Earth. Connel was delighted with this decision. Brian Pendragon was sent to Connel's quarters to fix some equipment and Connel started to learn about electricity and perhaps developed a crush on him. Delaney also supplied Connel with art supplies from her family upon her return to America.

Ridika Meyers left America to seek further career advancement. Therefore, O'Connor, with some doubt appointed Lieutenant Laura Wells as the new Chief Engineer.

Brian Pendragon started experiencing issues with the door to his quarters and ended up spending a great deal of time talking to crew while he worked on it. Somehow, this door never was completely fixed, as if the very thing was created to vex Brian Pendragon.

During the briefing en route to Lemmi, O'Connor introduced Keth as the Acting Chief of Science and explained the problem. Keth stated he did not want to go back to Lemmi because he brought no gifts and all three of his wives were located on the planet. Doubts by other crew members were expressed regarding whether the materials were truly defective. Soban explained that was not possible because the Culture always had a representative by the Huanni's side and they took care of problems. Buford revealed that the Culture claimed to have superior technology but it always seemed to be a hodge podge of technology, coming from not one culture.

Huanni representative, General Mrow Tat had called the Federation in violation of the Huanni's agreement with the Culture to not seek outside help. He hoped that the Federation might be able to solve the issue and scare away the Culture. When on board America, Tat was offended by D'Val Sinclair who was leading him to O'Connor. Tat claimed that Sinclair treated the Huanni like dogs and Tat claimed that Sinclair lost his niece Clarabelle Cayt.

Sinclair noticed she wandered into engineering and Clarabelle became curious about what Pendragon was doing. He gave her some ball bearings which Clarabelle mistook for a proposal. When Brian objected, Clarabelle showed him her pedigree and stated she would bear many healthy kits. Brian objected, Clarabelle cried and Brian handed her a handkerchief, which she took as a second gift heading towards a proper proposal. She took Brian into a hug, nearly suffocating him. When Tat learned of this, he demanded that Pendragon be brought before a Board of Inquiry both because of the proposal to his niece and Soban's claim of insult which either would result in a dual to the death or the bondsmanship of Pendragon. Further inciting the Ticker Tape, Sinclair claimed to Clarabelle that he and Pendragon were previously engaged. Jade Drak'nah witnessed this, causing her to walk off upset and Pendragon to chase her. Pendragon apparently did not want to close the doors on relationship opportunities with Jade. When confronted, Jade responded that she had work to do and not everyone could take time for romance.

In the meantime, Jessie Kirk was not feeling well. She went to sickbay and found out from the medical technician, Crewman Goking, that despite being a virgin, Jessie was pregnant. Jessie swore Goking to secrecy about the pregnancy.

On reaching Lemmi, O'Connor, Delaney, Soban, Sinclair and Wells beamed down to the planet. They heard a quiet, musical humming on the planet's surface that changed to a slight buzzing sound. The Huanni base was destroyed. What was odd, though was that some parts of the base were shiny, new looking metal and at others, the metal appeared as if it had been corroded over several thousands of years. Wells and Soban had an encounter with a Culture representative, resulting in Wells being frightened and Soban worshipping it.

Meanwhile, Clarabelle was assigned to work with Pendragon as the overseer of Culture technology. Pendragon sneezed and apologized that he was allergic to felines. Clarabelle took offense claiming she was no more feline than Pendragon was a hairless ape. She accused him of being cruel and insensitive. She left but came back as T'Pruk came to join Pendragon to find the cause of the corrosion of the Huanni metal. Clarabelle came to "supervise" and T'Pruk told Clarabelle to remain silent, endearing herself to Pendragon. They exchanged various theories as to what was occurring but could settle on none and decided to consult with the away team to formulate new theories. Also, Clarabelle brought up discussions regarding mating rituals and T'Pruk failed to make Clarabelle understand Pon Farr, which T'Pruk stated was just over 5 months away for her.

O'Connor then decided to beam Connel down to the planet, figuring Connel might like to see a planet with two suns. She also figured that Lemmi could not truly be harmful as it was run by Huanni. O'Connor then interrogated the Culture rep, asking if they were so superior why they had not solved the Huanni's issue with the base.

During that time, Connel wandered off, having followed a pretty insect. She snipped some leaves off of some plants. After she did so, buzzing sounded in her vicinity. She continued into a circular clearing and found what she thought was a rug but turned out to be a Huanni that was devoid of any internal structure or organs. O'Connor found Connel and they beamed up with the Huanni remains.

Delaney and Sinclair continued to investigate the planet and they found something quite unusual. There was something that looked Huanni. It was standing straight up. However, its eyes were not moving. It did not seem to be breathing. Green sprouts came from its ears and arms and it hummed. They tried talking to it and had limited success. After a few phrases, however, the sprouts and branches started to decay and die. They then returned to the ship to report their findings.

A briefing was held with all individuals, including Connel, that had any contact with the Huanni or Lemmi. Unfortunately, the briefing led to more questions than answers. Keth insisted that he bled blood rather than chlorophyll. And when there was a suggestion that the Huanni were guinea pigs or being eaten, Keth suggested firing photon torpedos at everything alien on the planet to eradicate them. Delaney politely chided Keth for his lack of curiosity. O'Connor ordered Jamison and Jessie to the bridge to delay the Culture while the rest of the briefing room tried to sort out the mystery of Lemmi.

Meanwhile the briefing continued. Soban suggested the plants were like Invasion of the Body Snatchers while Pendragon suggested perhaps it was the plants' costume/disguise to observe the Huanni. T'Pruk suggested that perhaps the plants had carnivorous tastes, like a Terran Venus Flytrap. T'Pruk then hypothesized that the plants might be doing damage to the base as they might see the base as harmful to their existence. Delaney agreed that this seemed the most logical theory with the information that they currently had.

O'Connor then sent back down Delaney, T'Pruk, Soban and Sinclair to Lemmi. As they beamed down, the Culture arrived and throughout America boomed the voice, "YOU WILL LEAVE!" Commodore Buford declared he was now the ranking officer and was taking command of America and wanted O'Connor cited for insubordination. Kirk suggested that Buford was inciting mutiny, to which he responded that Kirk clearly did not understand chain of command and it was now she inciting mutiny. O'Connor requested that Jessie stop so she did not ruin her career but Jessie continued and Laura Wells backed Jessie and the Captain. She and Chief Security Officer Rusty Hemd escorted him to the brig.

On the planet, the musical humming had returned until Soban threatened, at which point the angry buzzing returned. When he became silent, the buzzing left. T'Pruk agreed with Delaney's theory that the plants perceived the Huanni as threats. Delaney suggested that they test the theory by having Soban get closer to the plants. Soban refused but Delaney took a rare commanding tone and reminded Soban he was still a science officer on America. He moved forward and a plant grabbed his leg and ensnared it. T'Pruk shot her phaser at the plant that ensnared Keth and told Delaney that her hypothesis had been confirmed.

Delaney asked the plants why they acted that way and they explained that because Huanni killed them, they would kill Huanni. New vines sprung out of the ground and wrapped around Keth and T'Pruk's ankles. A Huanni-like head grew out of one of the plants and faced Delaney stating that both Soban and T'Pruk needed to be punished. Another vine grabbed Sinclair and started turning him green. A human head then appeared. The plants had incorporated Huanni and Human DNA.

The plants further explained that they tried to warn the Huanni about the base and how it was hurting them. Yet, the Huanni did not listen to them, so they decided to hurt the Huanni and destroy their base because the Huanni hurt them. Pendragon suggested that the Huanni could apologize and make reparations. Upon hearing that, all of the away team except for Soban were released from their bondage. T'Pruk was able to determine that the base eliminated the nutrients under the Huanni base. T'Pruk suggested that the Huanni sterilized the area prior to building their base. Pendragon suggested accelerated substrata molecularization to re-nutritionize the soil. T'Pruk stated it would take approximately 2.3439 minutes to accomplish.

In space, the Culture told America that they had five minutes to leave or would be destroyed. They also stated that they solely spoke for the Huanni and never requested Federation aid. O'Connor asked for Tat to help her with the Culture but the Culture told Tat that he broke the contract and therefore, they had no use for him and he could die with the rest of the crew on America. O'Connor powered up weapons and the Culture stated that O'Connor violated the terms of their "discussion." They fired a bolt and it started causing America's shields to compress the America, itself. Given this attack, O'Connor ordered that America fire at the Culture.

While America was battling, Delaney, Sinclair and T'Pruk started clearing, as best they could, the area where the Huanni base laid in shambles. O'Connor called down to the away team looking for any information. O'Connor reasoned that the Culture could not control the Lemmi plants and thus they were using the Huanni to do their dirty work of cleansing them from the planet, giving the Culture plausible deniability regarding the responsible party. O'Connor confronted the Culture with this information. In the face of this, the Culture stated that they deemed the Huanni contract fulfilled and left Lemmi. The compression weapon stopped its effectiveness, as well.

O'Connor beamed nutrients into the soil and instructed Pendragon to report to her to deal with the diplomatic issues he caused. When he got to O'Connor's quarters, O'Connor asked his intentions towards Clarabelle. He said he had none. So, O'Connor showed him a copy of the Ticker Tape. Pendragon replied, "If you believe that then you are sleeping with half the crew." O'Connor gave him a crooked smile and asked who's to say that she was not. O'Connor purposely flirted with Pendragon to tease him. She then asked Pendragon to explain what happened with Clarabelle and he did so. O'Connor wondered why Pendragon had not studied First Contact and Huanni Culture relations. He also explained that Soban wanted him as a bondsman because Pendragon had hidden Keth as a woman during the Civil War mission, a great insult to Soban. O'Connor then told Pendragon that she was betrothed and she was teasing him about sex. Further that she did not know whether to make him go through with the marriage to Clarabelle or bust him down to Ensign. She concluded that she would get him out of both problems to Pendragon's great relief.

O'Connor then called Wells to her quarters to thank her for her behavior on the bridge. Wells was surprised and said that she did not think that O'Connor liked her. O'Connor explained she promoted wells to CEO because she was the only one that she perceived as competent enough for the position and she did not initially like Wells because she missed Ridika Meyers greatly. O'Connor admitted that after this mission, her intention was to replace Wells as CEO. She did not think Wells had what it took to potentially command but after she showed that she was not submissive and was willing to think for herself, O'Connor decided Wells was suitable. Wells told that Captain that she wished the Captain was less condescending and rude. The Captain replied to look at the Ticker Tape. Wells found them rude but O'Connor explained that she found them to be a way to allow the crew to let off steam. She encouraged Wells to see things from a different point of view in the future.

She then met with Soban. O'Connor convinced Soban to marry Clarabelle to release his claim of bondsman on Pendragon. Soban responded that Clarabelle would have to renounce her hold on Pendragon. And even then, he had no idea what to gift her. O'Connor suggested "hypoallergenic platinum" so Clarabelle would have no adverse reactions to a gift. Clarabelle admitted that Pendragon was scrawny but she liked him but when presented with Soban as a possibility as a mate, she was ecstatic. Tat insisted that Soban would have to stay in Huanni territory and thus, Soban retired from America, a hero to his people.

O'Connor called Pendragon back to her quarters. She informed him of the release of the bondsman claim and that Soban would not be returning. O'Connor was going to assign Pendragon to scrub the manifolds and microscopically search for any hull integrity issues on America's decks A through E by hand. Pendragon reached for a tissue due to his feline allergies and O'Connor decided to keep him in her quarters for some more time. She learned that Pendragon could do some minor magic tricks. When he was on the verge of not being able to breathe, O'Connor announced that his punishment was complete and let him go as she instructed the computer to cleanse her quarters of feline dander.

The ship slingshot back to December 20, 1860. Two away teams were sent to the surface. One (the Northern team)--comprised of Commander Young, Historian Blake and Ensigns Sinclair, Soban and Kropoviev--was sent to Washington, DC to determine the Federal response to South Carolina's secession. The other (the Southern team)--comprised of Captain O'Connor (forcing her into heals and a hoop dress to her disdain), LtCmdr Kirk, Historian Hamilton and Ensigns Pendragon and Solar--was sent to Columbia, South Carolina to watch the unfoldings as they happen. The Northern team managed to miss the reaction to the South Carolinian congressman's resignation by a bit of bad timing. The Southern team managed to hear the announcement and fallout from the Confederate contingent of South Carolina. In addition to the sought-after information, the Southern team picked up a new passenger aboard the America--Mary 'Connel' McConnel. This little Irish orphan posed quite the problem during the rest of the America's mission as she became privvy to the fact that the America was a starship. A search of historical databases revealed no references to the child and she was permitted to stay on America.

The ship continued its mission by slingshotting forward two years. The crew found itself orbiting Earth on the early morning of September 17, 1862. The Battle of Antietam was preparing to rage beneath the America. O'Connor ordered Engineering to create personal forcefields, disguised weapons, and a disguised Huanni. Pendragon was able to do all of these things. His revolver was hollowed out with a phaser inside. Keth was dressed as a woman with long hair.

Again, two away teams were sent down to the surface to make sure that history has not been changed because of Connel's disappearance. History had not been altered. However, security officer Ensign Sinclair was shot by a rifle as his away team (consisting of himself, Commander Young and Historian Hamilton) was making their way toward Dunker Church at the beginning of the battle. Sinclair was rushed back into the North Woods so that the America could beam them back out. Materializing in Sickbay, Young and Hamilton made their way back to report their findings. While in Sickbay, after recovering from surgery by Junior Grade Lieutenant Tegau Delaney, Sinclair was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Also receiving promotions to Lieutenant Junior Grade were Ensigns Soban and Pendragon.

The ship has now continued through its mission into the future with a new intermix formula. The ship found itself on May 1, 1863, orbiting Earth miles above the battlefield of Chancellorsville that would take place the following day. Junior Grade Lieutenant Laura Wells remained on board the America to monitor the intermix formula while most of the rest of the party went down to the battle. Delaney went down to the Southern front with O'Connor and one of the historians who posed as O'Connor's husband. Delaney was sickened by the ancient medical techniques and O'Connor was thrown out of the medical tent by the resident nurse. Unfortunately, she wandered outside and headed towards Stonewall Jackson's position. The historian warned Jackson's troops he was coming and averted the shot that historically killed Jackson. Instead, the bullet headed towards O'Connor and penetrated the personal force field. Pendragon believed that this potentially made him responsible for O'Connor's assault and/or murder.

Meanwhile, Young's wife unborn child was starting to mutate. Delaney determined that the child developed two extra legs. And Crewman Goking started a rumor on the Ticker Tape that O'Connor and Keth were intimately involved. The child eventually developed into twins.

America then time traveled slightly later to the Battle of Gettysburg to make sure nothing in time had changed as a result of O'Connor being shot rather than Stonewall Jackson. Young was instructed to hold a briefing but O'Connor started to take over. This resulted in a large argument between Young and O'Connor. Young held Delaney back from going to the surface to take care of his wife but took Pendragon down. O'Connor decided to go to the battle with Lieutenant Wells so she could "see her Virginia roots." Everything appeared to be in order as O'Connor recalled all parties to America due to a spatial rift opening up.

America time traveled back to January 1, 2296 where O'Connor was greeted by an Andorian dreadnaught that hailed it. The Commander of the dreadnaught, Andorian General Thoph, said that America was expected on the Vulcan front and asked to explain why it was back at Earth instead. He also revealed that the Captain was either his lover or concubine and that O'Connor had some questionable relationships with Soban. Thoph, knowing that O'Connor liked furry things, beamed a gift to her: a tribble.

Commander Young and Captain Jackson's souls during transport, had apparently been switched. Jackson in Young's body listened to O'Connor's briefing on returning to the past while Young trapped in Jackson's body led troops in Civil War battles. However, with Stonewall alive, the South won the Battle of Gettysburg and eventually won the Civil War.

America traveled back to when Stonewall was supposed to be killed, transported Young and Jackson through the rift, enabling the soul transfer. Once on board, the rift closed and America was able to travel back to January 1, 2296. Upon determining that everything was right, O'Connor ordered 48 hours of shore leave.

An unknown illness broke out over Obi VI. The America is hereby ordered to pick up Doctor Susan Nuress from Starbase 11 and transport her to Obi VI. Doctor Susan Nuress came aboard the America and instantly began making problems for the command staff. Newly appointed Second Officer Jessica Kirk nearly threw the scientist and all of her possessions into the brig for the entirety of the transport to Obi VI. She did strike Nuress, which eventually caused O'Connor to create a written reprimand in Kirk's file.

Meanwhile, marital problems crept into the forefront of the America's command staff as Maria Gonzales Young found out that she was pregnant. Chad Young blew up in anger which caused Chad to be at odds with about every major woman on the starship.

While undertaking tasks for Doctor Nuress' obsessive-compulsiveness, MCPO Karibo Milos (NPC) found some unusual distortion within the backwash of the America's warp drive. Searches were made by Engineering, Science and Security to find the cause for such an anomaly. During the search, the America received a distress call from the U.S.S. Plato, saying that they had been attacked. America went to intercept the Plato and found that the ship was pretty beat up. A few life signs were aboard. An away team was put together to see about getting the Plato spaceworthy again. After deeming it unusable, the Plato was taken in tow by the America. Three crew members of the Plato survived. Two of them, Communications Officer Ensign M'Rasha and Medical Officer Ensign Jason Connor were pressed into active duty by Dr. Nuress. The third crew member was still in a coma from the attack.

The anomaly search ended when a message was found that was sent from the America to an unknown recipient. Security teams were dispatched. Science and Engineering were placed on alert to search for any other such unauthorized messages. Eventually, it was determined that the messages were sent by Lieutenant Stirling, the America's chief Communications Officer. He was sent to the brig and given over to StarFleet Security for court martial. The recipients of the messages were the Orions who attacked America but were repulsed.

Doctor Nuress was finally delivered to Obi VI to work on the plasma plague with no working cure for it yet. The mission ended with the America returning to Earth and Starbase 1 for the New Year's celebration to welcome the year 2296 and the promotion of Lieutenant Young to Commander, Ensign Tegau Delaney to Lieutenant and Ensigns Drak'nah and MacLeod to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Unfortunately much of the information regarding this mission was lost with the SLA having deleted the USS America archives. At the time, the Command Staff was Captain Kelly Jean O'Connor, Commander Jayme Kirk and Lieutenant Commander Chad Young. The mission witnessed the Tholians returning to cause trouble for the America. The America escaped a Tholian web with a Warp Bubble of sorts. After the mission ended, Commander Kirk was promoted to Captain, given the USS Defiant, an Excelsior class starship, infuriating Captain O'Connor who felt she deserved the ship. Young was promoted to the XO position and Jessie Kirk to 2XO and Security Chief.
