HISTORY:

Family:
Eliot Tamar - father
Nomie Aiman - mother
No siblings on record

PERSONAL HISTORY:

Leyla was born to an unmarried young couple, who were, at the time, still teenagers. The two of them never married, and the fact that they had a child was something that pushed them further apart rather than pull them together. Because of this, Leyla was bounced back and forth between both families each year, both parents having a full year of custody (which began at the start of the school year and ended just short of the start of the next so that she could have a short time to settle in before the school year started), and her last name is hyphenated with that of both her parents.

Due to the bouncing back and forth between both families, which was a long term decision between her parents that they thought would be beneficial (so that both extended families had time with her each year, especially during the holidays), neither of which lived near each other, she found herself feeling like a loner for the majority of her life. Whenever she went to make a friend, Leyla found that she would just have to go on again. She would attempt to find the same friends the next year that she was with that parent, but normally found that the interests she had no longer matched the interests of her former friends. Each school year was a different experience, as she went to more schools than she could keep track of. She found her calm in books.

As her books were the only thing she could take from place to place, she gathered quite a collection. From classics to ones from other worlds, she never did have a favorite. The characters in the books were her best friends, they understood her. She let her imagination run wild.

It wasn’t until there was a very bad argument between her parents dealing with what would happen once she turned eighteen and was not held to the custody agreement that had been set up that she decided to find her own way. At the time, she was nearly seventeen, and there was no point in dealing with the two of them any longer. As Leyla didn’t know any of her extended family well enough to go to any of them, she had no one to turn to. Instead, she found a school that would take her, without her parents okay, until she was able to join Starfleet.

At least with Starfleet, she thought, she would find somewhere to fit in.

That was her thinking, though nothing seemed to pan out the way that she assumed it would. Though she made it through Starfleet Academy with no real issues, and was assigned to a ship quickly, she again was left to herself. The few people she attempted to become friends with disliked that she let her imagination run away with her.

Leyla did keep to her studies, that was never a problem. She actually excelled at the classes, though for some reason the grades did not reflect it. She was given excellent reviews by all those who taught her, but said she had trouble paying attention. The reviews, once she read them, made her realize that perhaps her imagination was better left when she needed an escape. So instead, she went back to her studies even harder, leaving her collection of books to collect dust, except during the summers.

Once she paid closer attention to everything, Leyla’s reviews improved. This helped her finish near the top of her class and catch the eye of many ship captains. In the end, she was assigned to the USS Houston.

It took time, but she found that she felt more at home on a ship than she did anywhere else. Having never been on a ship prior to Starfleet, it was a new experience for her, but a welcome one. While on board the Houston, she found that some saw her as a flirt due to the build of her body and how her uniform sat on her. No boy had ever even looked twice at her, so this was new. It wasn’t until she made Junior Grade Lieutenant that she started to actually look at them as well.

She found herself starting to get more comfortable with her body and who she was physically. The ‘flirt’ status began to fit as any time she was off duty, Leyla began to wear even more revealing clothing. This caught the eye of many on board the Houston, including some eye rolls of many of the women. Having never felt anything like that before, she continued to enjoy every moment of it.

Leyla had gone through more than a few boyfriends over the years, but nothing really happened with them other than short term satisfaction. She was then transferred to the USS Belmont when a position opened up. The transfer was done quickly, and she soon had a whole new ship and crew to learn things about.

At this point, her books were still collecting dust, as her science department duties kept her from enjoying them. She buried herself in her work, bowing to the whim of her department head with what she’d heard about him, and how strict he could be. In the end, this turned out to be the worst decision of her life, as she should have done at least a few things her way and not decided to basically be a slave to whatever her department head said.

Though at the time it was unknown, Leyla's department chief had a hidden history that made him unfit for any position in Starfleet. Even the medical and command teams on board the Belmont had no idea that there were items hidden inside of his files. The majority of them having been faked, very well, and a lot of money had changed hands to make it happen.

During what seemed like a normal meeting between the two of them, going over normal duty information and reports, something seemed to snap in him. Whether it was the way that she held her PADD, or just the way the room had been laid out, it was anyone’s guess. Leyla had no chance to react. He slammed his teacup down, causing it to crack and break. She jumped but figured it was just an accident and quickly looked back down at the PADD which had a report she was finalizing. She soon found herself at the wrong end of both the broken tea cup to her throat and a phaser to her back. She was taken hostage on her own ship by someone she had originally trusted with her life. Though negotiations were attempted by many on board, including the Captain, security chief, even the counselor, it took an act of courage and of a desperate Leyla to free herself.

It had been days, and no one had dared get too close to the situation for fear of Leyla's life. There was no way to free her without causing serious harm to her. Even the thought of using the transporters was brought up amongst the crew, but they wanted to find another way to get her out.

Knowing that she likely would be stuck there forever unless she acted, she found a time when her captor had fallen asleep deeply enough that she could save her life, and perhaps many others. The remaining broken pieces of the tea cup had been left to sit, and taking the chance, she used one of these to take out the threat once and for all with a rather bloody slit to his throat.

The information was soon unburied from the man’s files once the record of him being dead was placed into it. He’d been placed on long term psychological leave by the best of Starfleet Medical with extreme anger issues and every counselor he’d visited while on Earth said that he could snap at even the tiniest thing. He was also known to hear voices. He was deemed unfit for any space travel, and was to remain on the surface unless escorted by a member of Starfleet Medical. Through many times of paying people off to keep them silent, as well as many others to re-do his records, he’d been able to not only get past the planet lockdown, but onto a ship into a chief position. Leyla ended up on the receiving end of the worst breakdown he’d had in his life.

With the trauma that she had to deal with, Leyla was placed on an extended medical leave, ordered to take some time to herself. She was not charged with anything in the killing of her former department head, as they called it an act of self defense. But the time away, though filled with countless counselor visits, was also filled with her first love: her stories.

On top of diving back into her books while she was relieved of duty, Leyla also found comfort in finding ways to defend herself. She took on multiple self defense classes including karate, phaser training, and the basics in security training. Her favorite ended up being the karate, where she excelled quickly and earned a black belt. Leyla found she gained much more self confidence in herself as well as how she approached others.

It took time, but finally she was cleared again for duty after mental and physical tests were done. She was allowed to keep her ranking of Lieutenant Junior Grade and was put back in the lines for assignment to a ship. She was later picked up by the USS America.

LIKES: Books, art, ability to be calm.

DISLIKES: No imagination (in others), inability to relax (in others), pushy.

LIMITATIONS: Sensitive in certain situations.

STRENGTHS: Ability to think far outside the box.

QUIRKS: Gets lost in thoughts often.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Reading, writing, painting, karate.

AMBITIONS: Soar through the stars until she is no longer able, find someone who loves her.

MEDICAL PROFILE: Up until the incident on the USS Belmont, Leyla Aiman-Tamar was the picture of health. The kidnapping and subsequent killing of her captor put a mental scar on her. She was placed on medical leave for a year and a half to properly recover from the situation. During this time, she was under the close observation by counselors to assess her mental status. There has been a noticeable change in her self confidence and her strength, most likely due to what happened and how she was able to get past it. She has been cleared for all active duties unless another medical officer deems something different is to be done.

DECORATIONS: None as yet

REPRIMANDS: None as yet

HISTORY:
Brian is an only child, born after his parents had given up hoping for a family. As they were older, they tended to encourage him in
sitting and reading more than in the sports field, which suited him fine as, on major motor skills he was, frankly, a klutz.

Fine motor skills were, however, another matter. By the age of 7, he was learning piano and violin and taking various pieces of equipment
apart and (mostly) putting them back together again. As he grew older, he took up more instruments and became more proficient at
reassembling objects. Gradually, the love of the latter overtook his musical aspirations, although he still plays for fun occasionally.

His innate geekdom resulted in some bullying by neighbourhood children in his early years. In Starfleet Academy, however, he
blossomed; finding like-minded friends and avoiding the overly sporty-types who reminded him too much of those early bullies.

FAMILY:

Alice Grace Pendragon - age 64

LIKES: fixing or improving things, music (performing more than listening), long-distance running, board/strategy games

DISLIKES: things that need fixing if he's prevented from doing so, team sports, bullies

LIMITATIONS: He is easily embarrassed (particularly where pretty girls are involved) and can fall over his words when either embarrassed or over-enthused.

STRENGTHS: Ingenuity and honesty

QUIRKS: His initial shyness can turn to verbal diarrhoea once he relaxes with the company he's in or gets onto a subject he's fond of.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Gadgets, music (piano, violin, recorder, guitar), board games (inc. chess including main variants), closeup magic.

AMBITIONS: To have every system working at 100% (that'll be the day).

MEDICAL PROFILE:
Brian is usually very fit, but suffers from occasional allergies (pollen, animal fur, dust).

Current Assignment:
USS America NCC-1776-A, from 2295 to current

Previous Assignments:
Graduated Starfleet Academy in 2294
USS Brice - Medical Officer, 2294
Promotion to Lieutenant, position Chief Medical Officer - December 31, 2295.
On December 31, 2295, after one mission on the America involving the transport of a Dr. Nuress and the study of a plasma plague, Tegau was promoted to full Lieutenant and given the position of Chief Medical Officer. The mission had been a success, and Tegau discovered the exponential growth effects caused by eichner radiation on the plague. This little discovery nearly infected the ship, but the samples were able to be transported safely away in time.
Promotion to First Lieutenant, 2XO - February 2296.

BIOGRAPHICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL/MEDICAL INFORMATION

Background:
Tegau grew up as a middle child of seven with her twin brother Tiernan. The oldest girl, she had certain privelages, but growing up she learned to devote much of her time quelling disputes and rivalries among her siblings. She grew quite adept at this conflict management, and in school was always well liked. She went on to enter Starfleet Academy and labored hard at her studies, working two jobs as well as taking a massive courseload to get herself through the Academy. Her parents helped when they could, but once out of the Academy, it became her helping them when she could.
She has shown to have an excellent work ethic as well as getting along well with people. Smart and self-driven, she came well recommended to her placement on the America, barely a year out of the Academy.

Likes: loves the sea, the outdoors, to sing, dance, and tell stories, to spend time with new people and listen to them and make up stories.

Dislikes: spiders, dusty, dark, damp places, waiting for long periods of time without knowing why. Fears transporters.

Strengths: Very good at improvisation and finding new ways around old problems without the neccessary tools. Also good at picking up various languages, though not too exceptional. She is inclined to volunteer for the dirty, hard, or somewhat dangerous jobs no one else wants to do.

Medical Background: Tegau Delaney is in excellent health.

Allergies: Peanuts, Lactose Intolerant

Drug Interactions: No known detrimental interactions.

Distinguished Service Cross - 2293
Meritorious Service Medal - 2293
Combat Readiness Medal - 2293

Reprimands: No formal reprimands.

HISTORY: Kelly is the youngest of four children and being the only girl, was constantly teased by her siblings. Her reaction to the teasing was to become a tom boy. At first, she would out run and outsmart her brothers; however, she worked out and trained in Aikido. Eventually, they found out that a physical tangle with her was a mistake. Since she was forced to use brawn and brains early, she did not have much of a childhood. There was no time for toys and games.

She spent most of her time learning to out guess, out smart, or otherwise out play her opponent. Her parents were not really a great influence in her life as they were always busy with their business, a French restaurant. As such, Kelly never developed any close personal relationships with her family. She quickly decided that the only place she could continue her self improvement quest was to go into Starfleet.

In Starfleet, O'Connor was a determined and brilliant student. She had some difficulty making friends because she is so determined to be the best at whatever she does. Consequently, her personality is such that people either love her or hate her. But either way, she does engender a great deal of respect for her intelligence and career.

She started her security career on Earth. She figured that would be a good way to meet several important people coming in on diplomatic missions. However, she was not long satisfied with meeting and greeting people. She felt her talents were wasted and thus, she got a tour of duty on the Alexis.

After getting promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, she quickly moved over to the America, which would prove to be her ship for quite some time. O'Connor had never intended to stay in one place for so long; however, while on the America, she met a cyborg, Roger Frankson, who was the head of the intelligence department on the ship. The chemistry between them was undeniable. As a result, a relationship ensued and she never left the America despite many opportunities to advance and leave.

2293 was the turning point in O'Connor's life. James Kirk affected her life more than he knew and he never met O'Connor. When Gorkon was killed, some Klingons attacked Cestus III in retaliation. The America was the only ship guarding this new outpost and came under attack. Only through the ingenuity of Captain Smith and O'Connor did Cestus III survive and did America turn back the Klingon offensive.

Unfortunately for America, it was rather badly beaten up, needed another refit, and the crew needed some rest. Therefore, it was put into dock. O'Connor, after some time could not stand not being out in space. So, she made a transfer to the USS Concordia as its XO. The ship was not thrilling to her. Its mission was mostly scientific in nature; however, it was space.

It was on this ship that O'Connor got a break in her career. A distress call was received from the USS Enterprise B. O'Connor was at the con when the call came in. O'Connor's CO was on shore leave. As a result, she had the ship. She heard the distress call, helped beam some survivors over and towed the ship into dock for repairs. Her actions gave her the rank of Commander pending the availability of a ship to Captain and she maintained control of the Concordia.

For two years, O'Connor and Frankson maintained their video/voice relationship and shared some leaves together. O'Connor always made sure she knew where the America was and kept tabs on Frankson, as much as she could.

But the romance was to end suddenly in 2295. O'Connor always tried to keep Concordia close to America. As a result, she was available for THE distress call. Upon answering the call, America reported that an away team containing both Captain Smith and XO Frankson had beamed down to investigate the sudden disappearance of a colony on Delta Trianguli III. Nothing more needed to be said. O'Connor beamed down. All that could be found of the America's away team was Frankson's occular implant by the beam down site. O'Connor's preliminary investigations suggested unknown alien technology had somehow taken the colony and its members. No traces of the former colony or the away team existed. Despite waiting for several days for a new lead or hoping the alien race that took (or destroyed) the colony to come back, nothing occurred.

O'Connor ordered the America and Concordia to space dock for repairs and to obtain new crews. Although O'Connor feels that she did not deserve the promotion, her actions on behalf of Enterprise and time as Commander, along with the availability of a few vessels caused her to be promoted to Captain. The Captain rank was given among a bit of controversy. After all, Starfleet seemed full of young new Captains and there was a strong desire to stop this trend among a minority of the powers that be. But, with Kirk gone and Smith gone, new blood was needed.

O'Connor was offered the America due to her familiarity with it. She was further offered it as a compromise. America was an older ship and its chances of getting into any serious difficulties were low. This satisfied those who wanted to keep O'Connor away from the Captain rank. As a further insult to O'Connor, she was not permitted to choose her own XO. She was informed that one would be appointed for her. (And so the game begins/opens....)

colony. At the age of 18 after fighting the many raids from the
Klingons, the colony was attacked by a Klingon war party as they
advanced across the border into Federation space. During this time
Jade fought and killed her first Klingon warrior in armed combat.
Without warning she was knocked out and burried by falling rubble.
Hidden from the Klingons and left for dead, she was able to avoid
death. When she came to and crawled out from under the rubble she
found everything gone. Everywhere she looked was death and
